The inldata package is a collection of analysis-ready datasets for the U.S. Geological Survey - Idaho National Laboratory (USGS-INL) groundwater and surface-water monitoring networks, administered by the USGS-INL Project Office in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy. Our findings provide critical insights into the impacts of waste disposal on the eastern Snake River Plain aquifer and the long-term availability of water for both consumptive and industrial use. The portal contains current and historical data including water levels, water quality, lithology, and well construction. The NGWMN is currently in the process of adding new data providers to the Network. A subset of wells located upgradient of facility operations has been utilized to characterize background water-quality, particularly in the regional aquifer and in the tributary valleys that supply recharge water to the aquifer. Backed by the U.S. Department of Energy, this package enables the collection of hydraulic head measurements from multiple wells across the eastern Snake River Plain aquifer, based on fluid pressure, temperature, and atmospheric pressure data. The National Water Information System (NWIS) Mapper provides access to over 1.5 million sites contained in USGS Water Data for the Nation, including sites where current and historical surface-water, groundwater, springs, and atmospheric data has been collected. The WDFN Monitoring Location Pages (MLPs) serve as the central entry point for all water data collected at a location. On the MLP, the most recent observations are displayed on a hydrograph at the top of the page. Utilizing a kriging-based genetic algorithm, it optimizes the locations of monitoring wells to ensure accurate and reliable data for assessing groundwater dynamics, resource availability, and the impact of various stressors. The NGWMN Data Portal provides access to groundwater data from multiple, dispersed databases in a web-based mapping application. The Portal contains current and historical data including water levels, water quality, lithology, and well construction. The Idaho National Laboratory Project Office (INLPO) conducts drilling and coring operations to monitor and sample groundwater, obtain basalt and sediment cores for analysis, and study the physical properties of the subsurface through geophysical logging.
