Tim Wise from Stillwater Bass Club has invited me down to the Gander Mountain in Huber Heights on Thursday, February 15th @ 7:00pm to discuss Float-n-Fly fishing for Smallmouth Bass. This is open to the public, and it would be great to see some OGF members in attendance! Topics to be covered. I put the boat in the Ohio River at 07:50. There was a strong down river wind which made the river very choppy. I got my 2 lines in the water at 08:20 just below the Mill Creek. 08:27 I hooked my 1st. catfish of the 2008 season. The channel cat was 23 inches long and weigh 6.4 pounds. It hit some shrimp soaked in vanilla extract. At 08:55 had another strong bite on the shrimp. I pulled back. I have a question for you kayak guys, I just purchased one myself and after I registered it, I was told I need to plaster my ID on both sides of the kayak with 3 numbers and letters. I am curious if everyone with a registered yak has these 3 numbers on the sides. Seems a bit overkill to. Took the head boat from The Fishermans Wharf out of Port Clinton today and had a blast, the walleyes were biting green and purple hair jigs tipped with minnows on a stinger hook rig. We was out on the reef thats all I can tell you for location, but I could see the BIG SMOKE STACK from where we. I'm mechanically challenged and don't even know what a oil manifold is. But I know my motor was running perfectly when I pulled it two weeks ago. I have an appointment with the marina's owner to discuss this matter tomorrow. Do I have a beef or is it possible there was a latent problem that only surfaced under the conditions of getting it ready for storage? The drawing results for the Pickeral Creek opener are posted. I got unit 17. Anyone ever hunt this unit? Any advice about the area would be appreciated. Anybody have experience with this and can offer any tips for the cleaning, drying and caulking with something.
