Iowa’s first all-American swimmer (150 yard backstroke) in 1922; national age-group record holder in backstroke at age of 73; only man to follow Iowa’s competitive swim program throughout its 77 year history; for 30 years official bell ringer signaling start of Iowa’s home meets; and named in his honor the Irving B. Weber Walkway of Champions in Iowa Field House and Irving B. Weber Elementary school in Iowa City. Sports: Basketball Inducted: 2023 Men’s Basketball, 1954-56 The starting point guard on the “Fabulous Five” 1955 and 1956 Final Four teams, Seaberg was a third-team All-American in 1955 after averaging 13 points per game. Sports: Track Inducted: 1989 Track 1929-30; 1932 Olympic champion in 110 meter high hurdles at 1932 Los Angeles Games; broke two world records and new Olympic record; NCAA champion, all-American, and AAU national champion in 120 yard high hurdles in 1932; Big Ten indoor champion in 70 yard high hurdles in 1932; and captain of 1932 track team.
