How many stop drilled cracks are allowed in an aileron or flap? Where would I find that info..for a Cessna...thanks. Thinking of flying to Gouldings Lodge in Monument Valley. Understand the approach and landing are tricky. one way in, the other way out and half the runway is paved, the rest is dirt. My questions are 1) Is the lodge a good place to stay? 2) Is your plane safe? I have heard rumors, and 3). I cannot find my notes form the last time I did this. I have an O320-D3G engine that I want to rotate the plugs in since I am doing an oil change. What is the correct rotation e.g. cyl 1 bottom to cyl 3 top?? What is the torque spec that I am supposed to torque them too? Highline Lake State Park, Loma Saddlehorn Campground, Colorado National Monument, Grand Junction Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Gunnison Note: Three campgrounds, two easier to access from US-50. Heed the warning to lock your food in the provided bearproof containers if staying in a tent, tent-trailer (pop up) or car tent. South Rim Older incarnation of a Cheetah. Carries 37 gals of fuel instead of 51 in the Cheetah. Both are 150 hp, 120+ knot airframes. Adding some mods will give you a few more knots. The 180 hp Tiger trued out for me at 145 KTAS. So you have the speed, kinda, but 150 hp flat out is 11 gph, and 75% is going to be about 8.5 gph (0.45 bsfc for leaned out lyc). Thats 3-4 hrs fuel with marginal reserves. I. Longer ones, however, I need to plan for an early fuel stop if I'm going to areas that may not be reliable sources of fuel (like Monument Valley). So I stop on the way there for a restroom/fuel break. I think I got a handle on why we seemed to run out of rudder after landing. Seems the 'horns' where the control cables attach to the wheel (Scott 3200) were bent upward a bit. A bent horn will result in a slack cable. Evidently, this happens when someone stomps on the pedals too hard, too. I completely understand how (aerodynamically) an airplane wing stalls; when it exceeds its critical angle of attack. Many factors such as weight and load factor though may change the pitch and/or speed that a stall may occur at. With that being said, I also know that an average light airplane. I'll be in the area of Monument Valley over the weekend and would like to take a detour to fly over it. Looking at the sectional, I see no airspace restrictions. The closest non-private airport appears to be 0V7, Kayenta. Is there anything I'm missing as to why I can't fly over it? I'd like to. Last updated 7:51:19 AM | Next update in 54 sec.
