Dalacin C 300 mg Capsule is a lincosamide antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the lungs, skin, bones, joints, stomach, and intestine. It is also used in post-surgical conditions to avoid infections at the site of surgery. Dalacin is a semisynthetic antibiotic derived from lincomycin. It has antiacne and antibacterial activity. It binds with the 50s subunit of the bacterial ribosome and inhibits the early stage of protein synthesis. It is highly potent against gram positive and anaerobic bacteria. Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic medication used for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections, including osteomyelitis (bone) or joint infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, strep throat, pneumonia, acute otitis media (middle ear infections), and endocarditis.
